Now I’ll tell you something right off the bat. When it comes to burgers, I take my responsibility as a citizen—and frankly as a man of refined taste—very seriously. You don’t just go throwing any old ground beef on a bun and expect folks to salute it. No sir. A proper burger requires standards, discipline, and a little bit of pride in the operation.
And that brings me to Blue Collar Burger over here in Plant City.
Now I recently paid the establishment a visit, purely in the interest of public evaluation, you understand. A sort of… culinary inspection if you will. And I must say, I was pleasantly surprised—very pleasantly surprised.
First thing you notice when you look over the menu is the sheer number of burgers you can choose from. They’ve got all kinds of combinations worked out already, each one sounding better than the last. But here’s the part I appreciated most: if you’re the kind of person who likes to maintain control of the situation—like myself—you can build your own burger exactly the way you want it.

That’s right. You pick the toppings, the cheese, the extras. You can stack that burger up to your own personal specifications. And let me tell you, that’s a system that makes sense.
Now the real star of the show here is the beef. They use locally sourced beef, and you can tell the difference right away. This isn’t one of those thin little patties that disappears the minute you bite into it. No sir. This is a proper burger patty—thick, juicy, and cooked just right.
When that burger comes out, it’s got a nice sear on the outside, holding all that flavor in. Then you take a bite and it’s tender and juicy all the way through. That’s the kind of attention to detail I respect.
Even the bun knows its job. Holds everything together without falling apart halfway through the operation. That’s important, because nothing disrupts a meal faster than structural failure in a sandwich.
Now I will say this: the burgers might cost a little more than what you’d pay at one of those big chain places. But I’m here to tell you, you’re getting what you pay for. The quality of the beef, the freshness of the ingredients, and the care they put into making the burger—it’s all right there on the plate.
And frankly, I’d rather pay a few extra dollars for a burger done properly than waste money on something that tastes like it came out of a freezer truck.
The whole place has a straightforward, hardworking feel to it. No nonsense, no gimmicks. Just folks making good food and serving it up with pride.
So if you happen to find yourself in Plant City and you’ve got a craving for a serious burger—one made with real beef and real effort—you’d be doing yourself a favor to stop by Blue Collar Burger.
Now I don’t hand out compliments lightly. But in this case, I’ll say it plain and clear.

That’s a mighty fine burger operation they’re running over there. And that’s the kind of thing a town ought to be proud of. And their patio is dog-friendly!
